about

I wanted to end the EP with a retro school disco slow dance and with a passing nod to The Eagles. I asked Phil Dearing to give me lush and he delivered that big time. Steven Hicken Jr played some super sweet and clean pedal steel which added a big touch of country class to the song.

lyrics

It’s the last song of the evening
And the band’s winding down
You’ve been getting on, having fun
Now you’re thinking ‘bout home
And you’re not sure how to say it
You don’t know how they’d take it
If you said that tonight you don’t want to sleep alone
Well don’t say anything, just see what the night’ll bring
And lead them out onto the floor

CH: Take her hand, take his hand
Now the music has begun
And dance, dance with someone you love
Hold her tight, hold him tight
Whisper you’re the only one
And just dance, just dance with someone you love

When you’re trying to say sorry
But you don’t have the words
You’ve been arguing, over everything
There’s times when love hurts
And you’re not sure how to say it
You don’t know how they’d take it
If you said baby we need to talk this thing through
Well don’t say anything, just see what the night’ll bring
And do something that’s long overdue
